Create Job-Ready Talent with a Work-Integrated Learning Program
Building a future-ready, skilled workforce has become a persistent challenge for employers in India, as the gap between academic learning and industry requirements continues to widen. According to the India Skills Report 2026 by CII in collaboration with Wheebox, the overall employability rate in India stands at 56.35%. While these numbers are improving, they also indicate a significant shortfall of candidates with the right skills. This leads to higher training costs, productivity delays, and prolonged hiring cycles. This growing mismatch calls for a more integrated approach to talent development.Â
A degree apprenticeship model, built on structured apprenticeship training and delivered as a work-integrated learning program, enables organizations to develop talent in real time while aligning learning with business needs. Unlike traditional hiring, this approach creates a sustainable pipeline of job-ready professionals trained within the organization, ensuring a better fit, faster deployment, and long-term workforce stability.
Scale Workforce Efficiency with Government-Backed Apprenticeship Training
India’s evolving government apprenticeship program ecosystem—led by the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) and the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS)—is designed to bridge the skill gap through structured, industry-aligned learning. While NATS focuses on technical apprenticeship training for graduates and diploma holders, NAPS promotes apprenticeship training at scale across industries. The impact is substantial: NATS has engaged over 2.57 lakh apprentices in FY 2023-24 and over 4.73 lakh new apprentices during FY 2024-25, while more than 21.47 lakh apprentices have completed training under NAPS between FY 2018–19 and FY 2025–26.Â
For employers, these schemes offer strong financial and operational benefits—under NATS, the government shares 50% of the stipend (up to ~₹4,500/month), along with savings of ₹3,500–₹4,000 on statutory costs, while under NAPS, employers receive 25% stipend support (up to ₹1,500/month) and reimbursement of up to ₹7,500 per apprentice for basic training costs. Â
Leveraging this framework, TeamLease delivers a structured blended learning program, managing the entire lifecycle from hiring and onboarding to compliance, enabling organizations to scale apprenticeship initiatives seamlessly.
